List of prohibited goods

There are a number of goods for which transportation is discouraged, highly regulated or prohibited. As a user of the Shiiped service, you must ensure that the goods you are transporting are goods whose transportation is permitted by law. Shiiped declines all responsibility concerning the use of its service for the transport of such objects.

We invite you to take note of the goods whose transport is regulated or prohibited:

  • Narcotics and psychotropic substances,
  • Valuables such as jewelry, precious metals, banknotes, bearer bonds, gold or silver, and other valuables,
  • Cultural properties of major interest for the national heritage,
  • Objects whose sensitive nature is subject to special formalities: weapons, medicines, asbestos, strategic goods that can be used for civil or military purposes,
  • Objects whose nature or packaging may present a danger to others,
  • Radioactive or corrosive materials, hazardous waste and dangerous materials such as compressed gas or any object containing gas or compressed or liquid air (aerosol products, lifeboats, fire extinguishers, etc.),
  • Lithium cells and batteries,
  • Perishable, infectious or non-infectious biological materials,
  • Live or dead animals,
  • Human organs and remains,
  • Obscene or immoral objects.

Moreover, because of their fragility, the transport of certain objects is not recommended. For example, glass, drinks and other liquids (oils, soap, etc.). We strongly advise you to take extra care when packing fragile objects.

Absolutely! Simply upload a package photo to be picked up in the application along with an invoice, receipt or order confirmation that the courier will present when picking up your package at the store.

No, couriers do not load parcels into your apartment. The parcel will be delivered to you and down to your apartment. 

The price of a transport varies according to the size of the parcel, the distance, the weight and the urgency of the parcel.  In order to find out the price of your shipment, you can make a simulation.

  • After posting your mission announcement, you will receive a notification of transport acceptance a few hours later.
  • If the delivery of your package is urgent, please choose “Flash” in your shipping request.
  • We know that reliability is essential and we are uncompromising on this point.
  • For this reason we have set up a system of evaluation and advice on each courier. After each delivery, the couriers are graded to ensure their quality. This is how the community believes while remaining qualitative.
  • We went further in checking the quality of the couriers. Each courier has the obligation to check his ID, driver’s license and bank details in order to recover his funds. The courier must also provide us with his e-mail address and telephone number.
  • Shiiped is a collaborative platform that connects individuals to each other to provide a parcel carpooling service. We do not intervene in the transactions, which take place directly between the sender and the courier.
  • Creating a community of trust is essential for us. Thus we control the identity of members by checking emails and cell phone numbers. Couriers are also required to provide their ID card and bank details to retrieve funds.
  • In order to guarantee maximum security, Shiiped offers free insurance throughout Switzerland to insure your belongings.

Once the package has been delivered to the recipient, you have the obligation to confirm the delivery via your account :

Go to your ad and click on “Confirm”.

2) Contact the recipient to ensure that the package is received.

All transport is insured up to 5’000. 

Payments are made online via Shiiped in a totally secure way. We chose Datatrans. A partner offering a secure and unique payment solution for collaborative consumption platforms and marketplaces.

Once the ad has been placed and a courier has been found to deliver your goods, you will have to pay the amount due for transportation. But don’t worry, your money is only paid to the courier once the package has arrived at its destination and confirmed by you.

This virtual wallet system does not send money through Shiiped. This has a double advantage:

The sender only pays if the advertisement is delivered.

The courier is sure to be paid only after the delivery has been completed.

Transport a package

According to the law, you are solely responsible for the objects in your possession, whether they belong to you or to a third party. As a result, when the sender hands over the goods to be shipped to you, you have the right to ask to verify the contents of the shipment in the sender’s presence to ensure that the goods entrusted to you are not illegal goods or goods whose transportation is prohibited. We therefore strongly encourage you to take this step and to refuse the shipment if you have the slightest doubt. 

In addition, checking the contents of the package also allows you to certify the condition of the good before delivery and thus, to be able to contest later any damage that could be unjustly reproached to you. Don’t hesitate to take a picture of the package before taking the road, it can be used as proof. We also invite you to read the list of goods whose transport is regulated or prohibited.

You have signed up for one or more packages on Shiiped and can no longer make the trip? 

Unexpected, capricious weather, misunderstandings, it sometimes happens that everything does not go as planned. 

We invite you to first try to find an alternative solution with the sender, for example by agreeing on a postponement of delivery. If no alternative is possible :

1. Contact the affected shippers to notify them of the cancellation. 

2. Make sure that you have cancelled any ongoing assignments. 

3. In case of difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact us at the email address support@shiiped.com. Attention, we invite you to avoid cancellations as much as possible. Indeed, you have committed yourself and the sender is counting on you.

Absolutely! You can accept as many assignments as you wish as long as you respect the delivery instructions, including schedules and dates.

We do not authorize payment by hand at the time of delivery: payments are made exclusively online in a secure manner and before the trip. At the end of the trip, as soon as the delivery is confirmed, you will be paid by Shiiped in the form of a bank transfer.

Security

We advise you to pack your belongings as much as possible. We strongly recommend that you take extra care when packing fragile items.

In order to guarantee reliability on Shiiped, our members have the obligation to complete their profile:

  • By having their identity verified,
  • By adding a profile picture, 
  • By having their e-mail and cell phone number checked. 

We have also set up a notice-based evaluation system, so that after each delivery made, members evaluate each other by assigning a score and a notice to their contact person.  Finally, if you have the slightest doubt or need to be 100% reassured, we suggest that you ask your contact person, when you hand over the property before the journey, to show you his or her identity card and/or proof of address (EDF bill, etc.) and to present the same elements in return. This ensures the reliability of your contact person.

At Shiiped the creation of a community of trust is at the heart of our concerns.

If you have witnessed any abnormal or improper behavior, we invite you to let us know as soon as possible so that we can contact the member in question.

Similarly, if a discussion seems abnormal to you, or if your interlocutor wishes to pass outside the platform, do not hesitate to let us know. 

We ask the shipper to pay via the Shiiped application before shipment rather than upon delivery, as we consider payment on site as a security measure.

By paying on the site, the parcel sent automatically benefits from the insurance subscribed, which is a guarantee of confidence and serenity for everyone. Be aware that if you agree with the sender that the payment should be made from hand to hand on delivery and that an accident or theft occurs, the good will not be covered by insurance. 

Paying before delivery allows Shiiped to play its role as a “trusted third party” for payment. We keep the amount of the contribution to the shipping costs on a box account, and it will be paid to you once the package has been duly handed over to the recipient and validated by the sender. This also guarantees that you will be paid the amount agreed with the sender without the need to discuss with a recipient who may have been misinformed!

Cancellation

It is possible that the courier may cancel the shipment or no longer respond to you. This is relatively rare, but if this situation occurs, we offer 2 options:

1. In case of cancellation by the courier, your advertisement is put back online 

2. If the courier has not cancelled, please contact us via support@shiiped.com.

Do you need to cancel an assignment announcement? From your account, you can cancel the ad as long as it has not been accepted by a courier. The amount of the refund depends on the reasons for the cancellation if the assignment has been accepted.

If the cancellation is at the sender’s initiative, the sender will be reimbursed in full, except for the connection costs if the assignment has been accepted beforehand by a courier. 

If the cancellation is at the courier’s initiative, your ad is automatically put back online. Its payment will be kept pending until the next reservation on this ad. 

In this case, it is necessary to contact us at support@shiiped.com. The ad will be put back online under the same conditions.

The Shiiped delivery platform is designed for both businesses and individuals.

Companies for example: Medical offices for emergency shipment of small materials, law firms for express shipment of documents, stores and stores for delivery to private individuals, architectural offices for shipment of plans etc.

Individuals for example: Online purchase and withdrawal in store, purchase on second-hand sites and withdrawal of the property from a private individual, forgetting keys and recovery of keys in the forgotten place etc…
